 Squids in Buttery Garlic Sauce, is an appetizer for seafood lovers made with squids or kalamari. The sauce is made using butter, garlic, green chillies, Pepper and flour used as thickening agent. This is mild spicy dish and tastes so yummy and creamy.

Squids in Buttery Garlic sauce

Squids or calamari cooked in a mild spiced buttery garlic sauce

Ingredients

  • Squids (Calamari) - 500 gms
  • Garlic (chopped) - 2 tbsp
  • Green chilles (chopped) - 1
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp + 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Maida - 2 tbsp
  • Fresh cream - 2 tbsp
  • Spring Onions for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Wash and properly clean the squids and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Now marinate these squids with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Set aside for 15-30 minutes.
  3. After 30 minutes, heat a thick pan. Add butter and let it melt.
  4. Now add chopped garlic and fry until golden brown.
  5. Add green chilllies and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add marinated squids and cook until it curls and the moisture is released. Once done, remove the squids.
  7. Now take maida in a bowl and add the left over squid cooked stock. Make a lump free paste.
  8. Add this paste to the stock and cook until it thickens. 
  9. Add fresh cream and mix well.
  10. Add salt and pepper. Mix well.
  11. Add cooked squids and toss gently to coat the squids with sauce. Let it simmer for 2 minute.
  12. Add spring onions and mix once. Switch off the flame.
  13. Serve hot.
