Paneer Peas Tikkis

 Paneer Peas tikkis is a yummy, healthy and flavorful snack and appetizer made with paneer and fresh green peas. This recipe is specially made for kids with less spices. Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.

This tikkis can be given as finger-food for 7+ months babies also. But make sure u completely mash the peas and skip salt as well. You can also reduce the spice level. Also fry using homemade ghee. 

Kids will love this snack. If you want to prepare this dish for adults, you can add green chillies and increase spice powders.

Paneer Peas Tikkis

A yummy, healthy and tasty snack recipe for babies and toddlers prepared using paneer and green peas.

Ingredients

  • Paneer (grated) - 250 gms
  • Green peas (boiled & crushed) - ½ cup 
  • Onions (finely chopped) - 1 small 
  • Baby potato (boiled & mashed) - 1 
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - ¼ cup
  • Pepper powder - ½ tsp 
  • Garam masala powder - ½ tsp 
  • Pink Salt - ½ tsp 
  • Canola oil for shallow frying (I used Jivo cold pressed oil) 
  • Chaat Masala for garnish 

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add grated paneer, crushed green peas, onions, mashed potato, coriander leaves, pepper powder, pink salt and garam masala. Combine well and bring everything together.
  2. Now take a small portion and make a ball. Gently flatten it between your palms. 
  3. Take some Cornflour, Roll the prepared tikkis in it. Dust off the excess. 
  4. Similarly prepare all the tikkis. 
  5. In a frying pan, add oil. 
  6. When it's medium hot, drop in the tikkis. Fry on one side for a minute. 
  7. Gently flip and fry until golden. 
  8. Now flip again and fry until the tikkis are crispy from outside. (refer the video) 
  9. It takes 3 minutes on each side for the tikkis to cook. 
  10. When the tikkis are perfectly fried, drain off the excess oil. 
  11. Transfer to a plate lined with tissue paper. 
  12. Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve warm with tomato ketchup or mint chutney. 

Notes:

For offering this as finger-food for babies less than a year, please mash the green peas properly, skip salt and add minimum spice. Fry the tikkis in ghee. When preparing for adults add Green chillies and increase the Spice level
