Quick Paneer Ghee Roast

I prepared this dish from left-over red chutney, which I'd prepared for masala dosa. Had homemade paneer lying in the refrigerator. So thought why not I try ghee roast with these ingredients.. n finally I tried. Ghee roast was finger-licking good :D

Quick Paneer Ghee Roast

A spicy paneer dish prepared using spicy red chutney and roasted in ghee

Ingredients:

  • Paneer (small cubes) - 1 cup
  • Curd - 1 Tbsp
  • Jeera powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder - ¼ tsp
  • Ghee - 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - for garnishing
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
For Red chutney :
  • Byadgi Red Chilles, (soaked in hot water) - 10
  • Tamarind - small amla size
  • Garlic pods - 4
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Grind the ingredients under Red chutney to a fine and smooth paste.
  2. Take this chutney in a bowl. Add paneer, curd, Jeera powder, Coriander powder and pepper powder. Mix well and keep it aside for 15-20 mins. (Check salt and add if required)
  3. Take a thick-bottomed pan and heat ghee in it. Once the ghee is heated, add marinated paneer and fry until the raw smell goes out and the paneer turns golden brown.
  4. Once done, serve it in a bowl, squeeze lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.. :)
